Mission Statement

The mission of the West Hills Symphonic Band is to offer musicians of varying ages and skill levels a challenging means of developing and expressing their musical skills, to inspire a love for music in band and audience members alike, and to provide quality concerts for local communities that enlighten, uplift,  and educate audiences through the medium of the rich heritage and ongoing, vital role of the American community band.

Diversity Policy
The West Hills Symphonic Band, Inc. (“WHSB”), in both its values and practices, affirms its belief and commitment to diversity and pluralism, which means there shall be no barriers to participation in any activity of the WHSB on the basis of gender, race, creed, age, sexual orientation, national origin, or disability.

The WHSB recognizes that diverse perspectives are important and necessary for responsible and representative decision making. The WHSB subscribes to the belief that diversity and pluralism are fundamental to the values it upholds, and this inclusiveness enhances the organization’s ability to respond more effectively to changing conditions and needs.

The WHSB affirms its commitment to reflecting the diversity of America in its Board, Conductors, performing membership and programs.
