Fall Concert: Portraits of Grace and Courage

Join the West Hills Symphonic Band on Sunday, October 18th at 3:00 PM at South Fayette High School for an unforgettable afternoon of music as we open the concert season with Portraits of Grace and Courage.

Led by Principal Conductor & Music Director TOM SNYDER and Associate Conductor STEVE BALDANZI, our fall concert brings together powerful masterworks honoring our nation’s history, heroism, and the triumphs of the human spirit. As part of our performance, we are proud to conclude our year-long celebration of our nation’s 250th birthday with AMERICA 250. We'll also mark historical milestones with John Philip Sousa’s SESQUICENTENNIAL EXPOSITION MARCH—originally written to celebrate our country's 150th anniversary—and James Swearingen’s poignant FLIGHT OF VALOR, which honors the extraordinary bravery of the passengers aboard Flight 93 on the 25th anniversary of September 11, 2001.

We are also thrilled to welcome guest composer and conductor MARK SUROVCHAK, who will take the podium to lead the band through three of his own evocative compositions: the vibrant ESPRIT NOUVEAU!, the deeply reflective ...LETTING GO, and the exuberant OVERWHELMING JOY.

Mark your calendars for an afternoon filled with inspiring music that honors our past and celebrates our shared journey. As always, our concerts are FREE and open to the public. We can't wait to see you there!
