WEST HILLS SYMPHONIC BAND
Winter Concert
Sunday, February 16, 2025 at 3:00 PM
Montour High School

Get ready to warm your spirits during this cold season as West Hills Symphonic Band presents its Winter Concert: From Our Hearts to Yours at Montour High School on Sunday, February 16th, at 3:00 PM. Remember that all concerts are FREE and open to the public!
Led by Principal Conductor & Music Director Clem Rolin and Associate Conductor Tom Snyder, the band will have your heart pounding with the consummate “barn burner” overture to ZAMPA, touch every heart with a collection of American Songbook gems in COLE PORTER ON BROADWAY, and stir every heart with John Philip Sousa’s INVINCIBLE EAGLE march. From the depths of every heart will arise a performance of HOPE, dedicated to the victims of the Los Angeles fires, whose lives have sadly been forever changed, and also to the first responders, whose unflappable determination, dedication, and courage provided hope to the region and the nation.
Finally, the band is thrilled to feature Principal Flutist Jamie Kasper as a guest soloist on CONCERTINO, a gold standard of flute literature by Cecile Chaminade. Jamie currently works as the director of the Arts Education Partnership, a national organization working on arts education policy and research. She can also be seen performing with the WHSB Woodwind Quintet in the lobby prior to the concert.
Other selections include:
WICKED – selections from the legendary musical and current hit movie
EL CUMBANCHERO – a fiery Latin showcase for the entire band
FREEFALL – a new composition by prolific wind band composer Robert Sheldon
