This year, the National Day of Giving is on Tuesday, December 2rd, and we invite you to "give big" as the West Hills Symphonic Band once again participates in Pittsburgh Magazine's annual Give Big Pittsburgh event.
Presented by GBU Life, the event will raise money for local nonprofits through a single online donation platform, providing a simple way to connect donors to the charitable causes they care about most. This 24-hour online fundraising effort offers nonprofits the chance to raise funds to support their critical missions.
West Hills Symphonic Band Donation Page:
Our goal for Give Big Pittsburgh is to raise at least $5,000 in support of five key goals:
Student Scholarships: Empower young musicians by providing scholarships to help them pursue their passions and further their education in the field of music.
Historical Archives: Preserve the history of the West Hills Symphonic Band through the digitization of archival media and files.
Sheet Music: Expand our library to provide a diverse array of quality music for our audience members.
Guest Artists: Enhance musical experiences for our members and audiences alike by inviting guest soloists from the Pittsburgh area to perform with the band.
Instrument Repairs & Acquisition: Purchase and maintain percussion instruments for in-season and summer performances.
By investing in these initiatives, we will also strengthen connections among musicians, schools, and local arts organizations, creating a more vibrant and united music community. With your generous support, we can continue our mission of inspiring, educating, and sharing the joy of music with an even broader audience. Help us build a stronger foundation for the arts and make a lasting impact on the future of music in our Pittsburgh area communities!
